I have enjoyed coaching candidates on the Innovate and Diversify strands for Transformers, the Museums Association’s workforce initiative for mid-career professionals looking to change the way they work. Participants were challenged to develop new ways of thinking and supported throughout to engage with experimental ideas, fresh thinking and learning from the experience of experts, innovators and coaches.

Yasmin is one of the best things that happened to me as a Transformer Diversify and I was lucky to be coached by her. She is a straightforward person with admirable attributes, and a good listener too. Yasmin encouraged me to think better of myself and I always feel refreshed and rejuvenated after each coaching session, and just over a short period of coaching by her, I noticed continual self – improvement. With her, I rediscovered my ability to engage my audience better than I used to. Yasmin was an ideal coach for me. She provides a structured framework to step through, reinforced with regular checkpoints. It wasn’t all process and paperwork though, she gave me encouragement and feedback that gave me increased confidence in myself and my professional work and helped me rethink my role and what I could contribute to the museum sector. There were clear goals set out in our first meeting and by the last day of our coaching we were able to look back and reflect on what had been gained throughout our time together – which was miles ahead of where we’d begun!
