Coaching for creatives

I am part of a community of coaches called Coaching for Creativewhich was set up by Creative Scotland Clore Fellows Jeanie Scott (Culture Radar) and Lindsay Dunbar (Cultural Crofter). Since being invited to be part of the pilot in 2021, the network continues to grow from strength to strength and enhance the wellbeing of professionals in cultural organisations through its tailored coaching programmes which include ‘Creative Lives’, ‘Culture Collective’, and ‘Refreshing your Creative Practice’.

REFRESHING YOUR CREATIVE PRACTICE: a coaching programme for established fiction writers which ran until May 2022. It was a partnership between the Creative Scotland Literature Team and Coaching for Creatives to boost resilience and confidence for writers as they respond to the impacts of COVID-19.

“The coaching with Yasmin exceeded all my expectations and led to a substantial shift in the way I was thinking about my career and my options. Yasmin intuitively understood where I was coming from, and her open and adaptive approach allowed our sessions to develop as I needed. Throughout the coaching I started to feel more energised and aware, and I now feel more hopeful than I have in years. Thank you, Yasmin!”

More testimonials from talented creatives I've enjoyed coaching:

“After coming out of the pandemic, Yasmin really helped me to find focus, purpose and to set appropriate goals for myself. She is a really good listener and is great at ‘reframing’ what I’ve just said so I can digest how I’m progressing and developing.”

Emma Stewart-Jones, Culture Collective Project Manager

“My coaching sessions with Yasmin were extremely productive in furthering my development within my profession and organisation. Yasmin responded quickly and effectively in each session by using a variety of tools and approaches to explore issues. I left each session feeling resolved and invigorated with a plan to move forward.

Yasmin was kind, generous, engaging and personable. It felt great to be coached by someone who was rooting for me and that helped to improve my self-confidence and self-esteem after a difficult year.“

Viviane Hullin, Artistic Producer, Tron Theatre, Glasgow

“My introductory session with Yasmin was very informative and enlightening. I was feeling a bit lost with my goals for a project I manage, especially with lockdown changing the normal day-to-day management, and Yasmin was able to help guide me to a clear goal with a first step action pretty quickly. At the beginning of our session, she explained the process of her clean coaching method as well as her history with coaching. I’m very grateful for this information as it genuinely helped me explore my own thoughts without trying to talk over the ‘quiet gaps’. I was prepared for having the room to think, and it helped align me with my own emotions, goals and values. Her choice of questions were exactly what I needed to think clearly and feel excited again about my ambitions! I look forward to future sessions, and highly recommend Yasmin with her wealth of knowledge, skills and experience.“
