Exhibition Advisor, Into the Unknown: A Journey through Science Fiction
Opening in summer 2017, this major Barbican exhibition was a genre-defining exploration of one of popular culture’s most celebrated realms, encompassing music, film and contemporary art to present a new, global perspective on science fiction. As one of the Barbican’s appointed exhibition advisor’s I helped shape their content to be more inclusive and accommodate non-Western perspectives, specifically science fiction from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. In addition, I was commissioned to write a chapter in the companion catalogue: Into the Unknown: A Journey through Science Fiction (pp. 174-181).
